The 45RFE is the transmission. It is a medium-stength, 4 speed fully electronic automatic transmission.
No bands on your transmission.
As far as filters, it has two. A canister (spin-on) and a typical flat (sump) filter. Both are, IIRC, in the pan.

Haha ok so i replied wrong the first time lol []I meant to ask about the band thing. only because once in a while it shifts hard and sometimes when down shifting if the o/d is engaged . like when turning a corner from slowing down then gas it to get back up to speed. But I duno if the PO ever changed the fliters or not So i wanna get it done. Thanks again gang .

This sounds like the same problem I had, I replaced both of the filters the spin on one and the regular filter and it fixed my problem. I bet you still have the same factory filter in that truck. The factory ones and not as good as the aftermarket ones. I used a pro King filter and my transmission doesn't slam gears anymore. It you decide to replace the filters yourself make sure that when you install the filter you get the seal pressed in good into the transmission.
(the o-ring filter) I just tapped mine in with the handle on a hammer using another hammer to tap it in with.

Hope this helps!

Royal Purple will give you synthetic, but you should change all the fluid over, which means flushing it with very expensive fluid :S
