Default Service 4WD Light

Hello! I'm new here and also new to Dodge trucks.
Two weeks ago I bought my 1st Dodge. It's an 01 Dakota QC, 4.7 in 4 WD automatic transmission mod #45RFE
Since I've owned this truck the "Service 4WD" light has come on several times for short periods.
Any ideas where to start looking?
Oh yeah, when moving about 35 - 45 MPH and I punch it at about 65 MPH I get what sounds like a chime or alarm coming from the dash.
Any ideas on this one also.

Thanks for your time.

Unfortunately the Service 4x4 light (which indicates a code in the transfer case control module) can't be read by basic OBDII scan tools. It would have to go to the dealership or a shop with a more advanced code reader. But if you can get the code it will give you a starting point for diagnostics

Thanks for the reply.
That's what I found out talking to a Dodge dealer employee.
I have an extended warranty on the truck so I'll call and see about getting it to a Dodge repair shop.

Thanks again,
jisco
