Just did a needed spark plug change last night. Not a bad job thanks to DC. The only plug that was a pain was #8. The rest were easy. Got a new PCV valve in, that was pretty easy as well. Not bad for a 1 hour job.
Now, my MPG might get better. The plugs really needed replacement at 35,000.

I've only been a dodge owner for about 4 1/2 weeks and am in the learning stages.
I have the 4.7 in an 01 quad cab with approx. 67400 Miles.
Yesterday I replaced the front shocks,"BIG" difference.
Anyway if you don't mind, what plugs and PCV valve did you use?

Best plugs to use are the autolite 3923's.

 

yes, I used the autolite platinums, and a fram pcv valve. lloks just like the mopar one.. Found it at Oriley AUto parts. Advanced auto couldn't get one they said I'd have to got through Dodge. WRONG! Got it for about $3.89. Wasn't bad to change. Just make sure you turn counterclockwise and pull back, Out it came.
Yup, no cap and rotor on this bad boy. nothin' like Direct Ignition.

Ugh, please tell me you didn't use platinum? I guess it is your truck, but on these magnum motors, you will see a 2mpg decrease with platinum plugs, and it will not run as well...

 

Didn't think mileage could get any worse.
How do the plats differ from the regular when it comes to mileage? Do they not spark hot enough or what? Pulled my boat and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. Mileage has been ok. got 14.8 average pulling yeaterday, Had a little tail wind on the way home. The mileage comp was giving me about 15 on the way to the lake about a 70 mile tow away.
I've never had problems in other vehicles with the platinums. Any more info on that for me on platinum vs. reg plugs?
