Electric Fan
Well, I am looking at buying an electric fan will probably cost me 50 bucks or so do the install. but the fan is a 14" electric, with 2000 cfm
Will this fan fit? Also, will it be okay to run it constantly? I am thinking of hooking this up to a spare spot in my power box, I just don't think the clutch fan does enough for my 5.9, because before it was a v6...

I went to measure it up, but a electric fan won't fit!... I might be able to change some of the brackets, but I can fit the fan if I remove the clutch one... Will 2500 cfm work?
Look for a fan that moves more CFM.
(3000 to 4500).
Also, see if you could add to the front of
the Rad. It will make the fan a pusher and
will reduce efficency by a third but, it might
give you the room you need and the extra flow
your looking for. (16" or larger if you can get it).
I'd hit the local Bone-yards. GM cars have quite a few
duel-slim-line fans that might work for you just fine/
I know Tuesdays a local pic a yard has everything half
price. Ten bucks scored me a Mark 8 fan that moves 4800 to 5300 CFM.
The thing will hover off the ground when hooked up to a battery-pack!
(3000 to 4500).

We had a 2500 CFM electric fan in our 5.2L Grand Cherokee, and it was not enough air. It ran warm in the summer with A/C on, and you couldn't tow with it at all -- because it'd run too hot. So we put the stock fan back on and it was all better again.
The mechanical clutch fan pulls a LOT of air. It's hard to beat in my opinion. I'm not sure why you don't think the clutch fan will be enough. That's what the 5.9L came with, stock. If the fan blades are physically different between the V-6 and V-8, get a V-8 fan out of the junkyard. It really will pull more air through that radiator than an aftermarket electric fan will, and it's reliable. There's no motor to burn out or electronics to mess with, or thermostats, etc.

Iam curious to know what the clutch fan moves for air. If you can match it with an electric fan you should free up a little power and if you drove it the same more MPG.

Most fans are simple, I would just run it all the time, and maybe with the clutch if I can squeeze it in. If I can, than I will, in winter il just unplug it. No point than so cold other wise... But during summer it seems like a good idea... But I measured less than 2 inches of room for a fan.. So either, get a few small ones, which extent like 1 inch out... or buy a really big one and set it up for temperature...

Ya i have been pondering switching to an electric fan. I mostly wanna do it to reduce the parasitic drag on my motor. Just want a little more go for when i need to tow/haul.
Tho i was gonna route out my AC but everyone tells me it wont matter if i dont use it (needed to be recarged when i got it, almost 5 yrs ago)

That would be a good fan if you have
the room side by side for both.
I didn't see what the depth was.
I'm guessing 4" maybe?
You'll need a relay (2) for both fans.
Run one fan constant on the intake
side of your rad. Have the other on
a toggle-switch for the summer and
when you run the Air in the truck.
(Remember, your gonna hear those
fans running).
Run the constant fan hot with the key forward only.
That way if your listening to the radio with the truck
off, (the key in the back position) your not running
down your battery fast.
