New Shocks?
I only have 60,000kms which is like 45,000miles and i cant stand the ride in my 02 QC. its so jumpy and stiff. Im thinking about replacing the front and rear. Im thinking about KYB or Pro Comp but because those are respectable names but has anyone here replaced your shocks and give me a ride report? thanks

Can you describe "jumpy and stiff"? The reason I ask is because I think KYB and/or Pro Comp are going to be even stiffer than factory. If you want smooth, try Napa Response (same as Monroe blue). They were relatively soft, softer than factory, and rode nice. I preferred firmer, though, so I returned those for Napa Reflex (same as Monroe Reflex) and those are nice. Still soft enough to allow a little bit of compression/rebound on larger road heaves, but firm enough so as to not pogo down the road. A perfect compromise for me, although everybody differs in their preference for ride quality.

i want something soft and smooth i drive on a lot of gravel roads with quite a bit of washboard and its really bad the rear end likes to kick around if hit them at a reasonable speed. i replaced my buddies shocks on his chev silverado with rancho's and it helped a whole lot.
I've used Rancho RS5000 shocks before and liked them. I had them on a 4x4 Nissan truck. The front ones were relatively soft, and the rears were nice as well. I thought they gave a good ride quality. They're also part of the Monroe/Tenneco Automotive family. If Rancho made the RS5000s for the 2WD Dakotas, I may have bought those. So yeah...that's a good though (the Ranchos). I really liked them on my Nissan.
I have the RS5000 on mine. decent on and off road. I bought these for the time being since the stock ones were blown in front and I wanted something until I saved up for a 5"full suspension lift. I paid $238.00 total at Sears and installation was free. It's been 1 1/2 years and no complaints.
RS 5000 would be my choice. the RS1000s are not bad either if you want a more compliant ride and not worried about going off road.

I've never heard of Rancho RS1000 shocks. Their website doesn't list them either.

Does anyone have information on these?

yea monroe is discontinueing the sens-a-trac line of shocks, and i just put the monroe reflex into the front of my truck and it made a world of difference in the ride and handling of it so i would say go for it, o and also check the bump stops on the front, mine were shot at only 70,000
