Default diesel in a kota

has anybody experimented with doing a 4 cylinder diesel swap in a kota?? i have been curious as to whats out there. cummins or vw what would work and what would mount up closest to a 2.5 4 banger?? my 4 banger only gets 20 or 21 mpg and i want similar mpg at least but more power and im sure a 4 cyl diesel would do that.

What companies produce the kits for the vw engine swap?? Ive heard of quite a few of these swaps being done. teh vw diesel seems to be a pretty reliable engine. just need to find out where the kits are and what model vw engines match up or whatever for the 2nd gen.
