Default Engine RPMs

I am having a problem with my engine running at high rpms while in park. it usually runs at about 600 rpm idle in park but lately its been running at about 1200 for some reason. it only does it in park if i put it in any other gear in drops right back down to 600, i was ust wondering if you guys had any suggestions
2000 qc 4.7

The 4.7 has an issue with throttle position sensors. Try this, turn the truck off and disconnect the TPS and then crank it back up. If it idles normally, its a bad TPS.

that would really suck if that was it because i just replaced the damn thing but ill give it a try.

that was the problem, turns out that i had a warrenty on the tps so i got a new on for free
