Yes, but buying a used bike that gets 50 mpg makes perfect sense and is allot more fun
Actually I agree with your post JasonA, but if he feels like it helped and is happy withhis choice then that's all that matters.

Yep, that's it. His decision to trade the truck on a new Civic probably won't pay off for a LONG time (and may never pay off). But I suspect that finances weren't the only reason for the switch. Unless he had a payment on the Dakota, and/or unless he drives a LOT of miles on average, he's paying a lot more now per month (with the car payment included) than he was. So I suspect he really just wanted to row some gears and carve some corners, and that's cool.

JasonA that may be the smartest thing you have ever said. I havebeen trying to tell people for years that getting rid of their truck (paid off or not), to buy a foreign crapmobile that gets 30 mpg IS NOT a good investment. you may think it is when you dont pay as much at the gas station, but for the next 23 years (give or take), you've lost alot more money than you would if you'd just kept your truck. Not to mention in 23 more years you'll have to buy 5 or 6 more civics because they're cheap pieces of crap.

Look,

I didnt post this thread for people to bash me. (not talking about everybody) Thanks everyone for leaving a POSATIVE comment. And for Wink, how are they such peices of crap? About 70% of the car is made in the U.S./Canada and only 30% japan. That looks like to me thats its for domestic than people really think. I proboly didnt prove any point here, but whatever. Every car is the same no matter who makes it. You buy em, you drive em, and they break. Every car is the same when it comes to repairs. Thanks to everyone who left a posative response. I am very happy with the car by the way.

Well first off congrats for the new ride. Your happy with it and thats all that counts! I love my dak and I drive it everyday, I have been babying it a little and got 21mpg last tank (calculated for those think that, my dak is just about manual everything mpg included). I also got a BMW that will be a play car when it goes (tho it gets the same milage as my dak. SPA estimate at least, tried to get a fun ride that gets better mpg but what ever).

And everyone has there favorite and hated cars. I think that most imports are built better and better engineered than a lot of american cars. But my friend had an audi and it was riddled with electrical probs and hell never get another. Its all about the experiances you and your friends and family have with different vehicles. Dont bash the poor guy just cause you dont like it. Voice your opinion, this is america after all, just dont be so negative its just not nessesery.

I agree with batman we need pics!!

And lastly if you have a problem with my spelling see my sig
