if you do a strainght trade make sure he fixes everything thats messed up or just have hime give you 500 + trade. idk, personally i wouldnt do it, i found my 99 r/t with 44xxx for 5900. then agin, that truck was totaled in a week so i think it had bad mojo.

unless your planning on redoing everything anyway stay away. you could just enjoy customizing it everytime something messes up. good luck with it though

162K+ Miles is a bit much, i would check the tranny, all bushings/joints, Check the oil. If you want to do a straight up trade i would go for your truck + some money back, to have the brake system totally redone, new rotors/pads/calipers/drums/bleed/flush. Grill can be fixed with OEM part off ebay painted to match not that expensive, new tint 100$-150$, sun visors not hard to replace, A/C Blower have him fix it.. A/C is a necessity in DD. v8 badge not expensive and not hard to replace stealership will have it for about 20$ or less or just ebay one.

Also if you get it i suggest a full tune up, new cap, rotor, coil, wires, plugs, ect. Look inside of TB for OIL just in case the gasket is blown (more then likely) depends if the last owner kept up with it. But based on whats wrong with it.. no they didn't. You will need to do alot of work to it.

Honestly you could probably score one a bit cheaper with less miles then that one, but if you want to have an R/T then go for it. Don't plan on modding it till you get all the little things fixed. Mines hit over 100k and alot of little things from 70-100 had to be fixed.. very annoying.

Although the Rearend is sexy they molded the Sir Michaels Rollpan to the body and looks good, and its a 98 so dont expect the paint to be perfect but if its lik pealing off the roof and rusted.. pass it up.

If it was me and i wanted it bad. I would offer him 3500-4000 for it and try to get a longer warranty and about 1000-1500 back.. or have him FIX everything on it and not just clear the codes. I wish i was there to talk to the guy selling the truck.
