Default 00 Dakota 3.9v6 stall on start

Ok i have a 00 Dakota 3.9v6 with 156k miles and it has been sitting for about 6months due to busted wheelbearings and a halfshaft, so i went to start it of course the battery is dead so i jumped it (after replacing the siezed up alternator) the truck will try and turn over but wont start unless i floor the gas pedal and as soon as i let off it stalls right out i have cleaned the intake the plugs and wires have maybe 2k on them, i was thinking maybe something made a nest in the exhaust causeing to much back pressure causeing it to stall but i dont know i sat there for about 5-10mins with the truck running (keeping it at 2-4k rpms) i did notice a lil smoke comin from the driver manifolds figured it was grease from the halfshaft that came apart...Any help on what might cause it to stall out like that or what needs to be done would be great thanks
