Default Headers

Alright guys I need some help. I'm trying to deiced on what headers I need to get for my 5.9 Dakota. I'm stuck between Hooker or Gibson Headers. Any suggestions?

I'm not to well informed on headers but when to comes to long tube or shorties whats the difference?
And if I'm not mistaken pph's are the Mopar performance headers?? Correct? And are they considered a long tube??
Also what can anyone tell me about Borla headers??? Any information is valued. Thanks.

Alright i cant seem to find any PPH's so I'm leaning towards the JM long tubes now. I was wondering do they require welding and cutting or do they just bolt on??

O and would they fit a 360 or are they made for a 408??

long tube or pph's. If you get some though get ceramic coated.

long tube if you have the money... the only ones ive seen are like $800 F*** THAT. i am going to go with hooker shorteis. the gereral concensus is that the rank is:
shorties = good
equal length= better
long tubes = best

i have heard nothing but good about PPH but i dont know where to get them. like i said im going with hooker headers and full (cat delete) dual with an h-pipe and hooker aerochamber mufflers.

if your going to do full exhaust then do either dual 2 1/2" or single 3".

I would go with Mid Length Headers aka Spintech or PPhs

you can find PPhs on dakota forums/dak r/t forums for sale regualrly. Mopar Stopped making the PPhs a few months ago, i was lucky enough to grab a set used from somone for 250 and they are now getting ceramic coated by a shop. They retail for about 600-800$ they are one of the best headers for our trucks besides the custom JM Longtubes and the SS longtubes.

Stay away from Gibson.. im warning you, nothing but problems with them on my truck, the headers are to short and cause problems with the engine torque and the flanges, along with the style of the header it sits to close to the Upper Control arm, so the passanger side control arm is a bitch to move or adjust (meaning no good alignment) also if you ever bottom out and that control arm bolt hits the headers you have a nice exhuast leak... like me.

Dont jump the gun and buy ****ty headers, look for a good set of Spintech or PPhs on the net you can useally find them from about 250-400$ used about 600$ brand new..

good luck.

Guys, go to www.southeastperformance.com and tell John Mercedes Wayne from Maryland sent you for his full length long tube headers. On the dyno, they made 30 more horsepower than the Mopar headers.

Is all this info the same for the 3.9? I wouldnt mind headers, should make it meaner sounding and more power, which everyone knows it needs....

Would a set of headers make a big difference for me? I do have a high flow cat and muffler. And is it high or low end gains?

Thanks

v6's don't tend to like the flow of high flow stuff it is better to have some back pressure for the low end. If you start putting some serious money into the 6 go for headers but to be honest u can drop a 5.9 in for 1000 bucks easy...

quit bragging varsis.... lol. yeah by the time you dump money into a V6 to get decent power you could have just had a 5.2 or 5.9.
