One of my friends sealed an exhaust leak with jb weld, not sure how long it lasted though they ended up selling the truck a month later.

your best bet is a high temperature resistant epoxy if you want a quick fix. that wont hold for a long time either IMO. this was common on geo prizms, the manifold would crack right in the middle. my buddy's car had the problem. we pulled the manifold off, through a weld down it. it held as long as he had it until the 2nd transmission failed, then he junked, too many problems... not a bad car for $100 and a used tranny for $200. got rid of it for $700 for a used trans combo he sold with it.. $200 profit

Man,sorry to say this, but your only solution is to wait until you install the headers and it will be fixed. There is no quick fix for a leaking manifold.

Is it the gasket or the manifold itself. If it's the gasket, and it will be a while until the header install, you are going to have to replace the gasket.

its probably just the gasket. thats where i meant to say earlier
i think i'll contact my local autozone rep...
lol
and replace it, it will be some time before headers

the problem is that my engine stumbles when its first started, but after a couple blips on the go pedal she clears right up.

its a combo intake/exaust gasket i just learned from my AZ rep

I used some kind of clay. I forget what its called. its 2 types of a clay material and when you mix them together it gets real hard and is heat resistant. I gooped up the manifold on the 99 before I sold it and its still on there. I think the name has iron or steal in it. I dunno I bought it at TSC though
