Default Heater core question and other engine Q.

Well today I started noticing what sounds like a trickling sound of water in the dash and noticed that my heater does not get burning hot anymore, will this be easy to fix? Also my truck is now making a poping noise about every 20 miles while im driving like it backfires. I don't know what a backfire feels like lol. Any idea what could cause this? I did just notice though that my vaccum line right by the firewall is broke, its the one connecting to the break booster i think and cruise control, is there any chance this vaccum leak can cause problems?

Please excuse me for asking so much lol, i drive 30 miles to work now and I have to keep my truck running, its only got 106000 miles and it feels like its gonna die soon lol. v6 if that helps.

pop is a back fire. I would check your wires, plugs, rotor cap. Next is gas pressure. Does it happen consistently? or Randomly and does it happen at idle? Vacuum make cause it but it may also be sucking in dirt, ect.. Fix it ASAP.

For the heater core question i just changed mine and it was definately a task. i found out that it was the heater core from some signs. under on the fire wall on the left side there is a hose that comes through the firewall and the hose was leaking antifreeze. another was when i had the airconditioning on it would smoke when i accelerated. from what i have heard stock our trucks came with a platic core and that broke really easy. you may want to check it out. if you need help i will help you. there is a guide on the forums and that was really helpful. but my warning for you if you are not quite mechanically inclined i would suggest maybe thinking about it before you do this fix. it took me and my dad two days and that was pushing it. good luck.

Default fIxed lol

Well the backfiring all seems to be caused by my wires, i bought new ones even though these were new and it hasn't backfired in 3 hours of driving so I hope its fixed lol.
