i just did mine this may, the uppers are not hard at all, the lowers u gotta take the axles off, its not hard just time comsuming, i recomend u get a haynes repair manual, and a ball joint press from somplace like autozone. Make sure u put high quality greaseablr fittings in. But like i said its not hard just takes time. i recomend u replace ll the ball joints at once, then u know they are all good.

Thanks,. I've got the one upper that's bad. The three others have
been replaced but this last one I think I would want to try myself.
I DO have access to a press so I think I'll try to tackle it.

Jack it up with the lower control arm and take the wheel off.then if they are riveted in you must use a air hammer to get them out,but first undo the cotter key and loosen the b.j bolt some to get it started to come off.then cut some x's in the top of the rivets to ease hammering/shearing head off, then tap out the lug part of the rivets with a punch, but first break loose the upper stud from the upper arm by wacking the knuckle near the upper joint.once you see some stud above the arm,you know it's loose.remove old b.j. Get a oem b.j. From dealer, they should have instructions in there to finish the job.after market may not. To do the job right go with oem parts

if they're riveted, either drill the rivets out or grind em off. OEM ball joints are gabage, get the MOOG units, they're greaseable and very reputable.

f0x672 is right, make sure you get the MOOG that are greasable, the OEM factory ones are such garbage. It's the reason why you had to replace all 4 in the first place. Sealed BJs from Dodge are the devil.

Wish I would have thought about "X'ing" the rivets before trying
to Beat them out! Took me half a day to get them out. Didn't
have the swing-room with the hammer to get a really good hit on
them. (Along with the fact that my hand kept getting in the way of
the hammer)!
That's as far as I've got so far. Try to finish this weekend.
