Default Couple Problems with the Dak(Headlight Flicker)

Ok first problem is the head lights flicker on and off sporadically in no pattern whatsoever along with the interior dash lights and the dome lights if they are on. The security light will flicker too. I ran a check on my truck and it doesnt even have a security system. First opinion on it thought it might be the CTM (central timing module). During the day with the lights off the security light will blink sporadically. Does that sound right that it might be the CTM? Anyone have anything like this happen to them?

Second problem is that I've thrown a code twice now in 10 days. Its P0455 which is a large evap leak. The truck runs excellent and doesnt studder or hesitate or anything. Im thinking maybe the gas cap went out? Anyone have any ideas on that?

Thanks in advance

Jake

BCM huh....same symptoms as mine? That would make sense too. I just dont want to take it to get it done and not have that be the problem if its 300 bucks. Anyone want to comfirm? Thanks

The only way to know for sure if you have a bad BCM is to scan your truck with a DRB at the Dodge place or if you know somebody with an aftermarket scanner that can read a BCM. You would be looking for a code like "ROM Checksum Failure". I am assuming that the flicker only happens when the key is on.....but if it does thats a pretty sure sign of a dead BCM.

As for the large leak, check the hoses going to the vapor canister in front of the fuel tank under the truck. Odds are you have a cracked or broken hose there.

basically, any time a display light (low fuel, check engine, low wiper fluid, etc) would come on, my headlights and entire interior lights would start flickering on and off. it would go away if i turned the headlights off. it was a real bear driving in downtown chicago at nights with my headlights going on and off. i actually got pulled over for it twice (no tickets). it kinda sucked, i always had to have all my fluids full and pray for no check engine light. anyway, i took it to the stealership and got the part from the head mechanic i know there and he fixed it for me in 20 minutes, didnt even charge me labor, so for about $300something the problem is gone.
