mine don't stick either, in any condition. must of gotten lucky. my drum brakes themselves don't contribute to any braking though, the auto slack adjusters aren't working properly on mine. i can't wait to get rid of them.

Ok so my question is how easy is it to do the rear disk swap with the caliper bracket? I have had brake squeak for months and it drives me insane. The junkyard I go to has had a few 2nd gen daks every time Ive been there. The 2 they have now have no rear ends but Ill be going back there soon I think. They finally got some BMWs in my flavor

so has anyone ever gotten just like really good aftermarket brake components that are better than stock but not like super expensive? I may end up converting the rear if I ever do a 360 swap on this truck, but i dont think the drums are the problem with my truck so they can stay for now. I've heard to stay away from the rotors with slots and holes and all that because they just warp easier... really I just want some brakes that dont plain suck. I'm not asking for much.

well i think it's because it's like the monro muffler brand of brakes and stuff, but they're supposed to be the best because they're ceramic. All I know is that the OEM brakes sucked too because they were totally gone at 30,000 miles. Since you have a regular cab 4 cyl 5 speed your truck probably weighs a good 800 pounds less than mine if not more, and I know we probably have the same exact brakes... right there's the problem. too much truck, too small of brakes. The quad cabs are probably even worse off.

last i remember, ceramic's only job is to produce less brake dust versus regular pads, like the factory ones. i couldn't care about the amount of brake dust generated, i wash my truck weekly anyway.

Well I believe that ceramic dissipate heat better to which reduces fading and increases stopping distance. But I think they wear faster and are louder than a standard rotor.

Feel free to correct me if Im wrong but thats my understanding...

ceramics are the pads, not the rotor, rotor is steel. yes you're right about the pads dissipating heat faster and that they have a service life half that of normal pads.
