Question what are your thoughts on injectors?.....

well..... what are the stock ones? whats the next step up? does it make sense to do higher injectors with an intake manifold, CAI, TB, and 1.7's? pros? cons? (i'm assuming fuel mileage, f**k it i might as well). all input is appreciated. also, for those of you who have them, links???? thanks again guys!

I could be wrong but i think the stock injectors on our trucks are either 19# or 21# and upgrading to ford injecters would be 24# or 26# cant remember.

but i would only upgrade if you plan on s/c or Turbo or if you plan on 400+hp.

But like i said i dont have much first hand exp with the mod itself. Im running stock injectors and i think its doing fine right now, and i should be close to 300rwhp about 380hp at the crank (damn 46re)

i dont think it would hurt to upgrade them now if you wanted, a set of used ford injectors will work fine. Off a Mustang or something.

Try doing a bit more research on google and wiki.

If you get new injectors, get a new fuel rail. The hose on the back is wimpy and can get too much flow, and starting backing down. Not getting enough fuel. They are pricey though, but really allow for the extra fuel.

Southeastperformance.com sells them.

i would say dont bother unless you're planning on doing forced induction later... the only real difference you might notice is if your old injectors are just dirty and clogged.

Yeah the stockers are 19# and are the same Bosch style injector that Ford uses. But unless you went with aluminum heads/cam or forced induction, you would be wasting your money. The only reason you would need to upgrade is if you had a lean fuel mixture at high RPM. The blower that I have on mine only makes about 6 lbs of boost but at full boost the stockers couldn't keep the fuel mixture right. I had to go with 24# ones on mine.
