Default crank and bearings

Gonna pull the motor this week, decided from the advice it's better this way, can an experience mechanic tell me any advice in replacing the crank and rod /main bearings before I get started. Did a ford motor yrs back so I'm not afraid, just want to make sure I've got everything ready. thx mjz

might as well rebuild the motor if your going to the trouble... rings aren't that expensive... Check all your rods ect... Whats bad replace, while heads are off check values too.
