Smile hitch drawings.

How you doing .

I am new here and was wondering if someone has ever built their own hitch.
If so does anyone have any drawings with measurements and what material did you use.
Want to build a hitch for my dodge dakota quad cab 4.7l V8 year 2000 .

Default tires

tires are 35 inch buckshots on 15 inch rims. They only rub a little bit when I turn all the way and then only on the one side .

Default about the hitch

I am from Iceland and live there dodges are not a common thing here and difficult to find any spare parts. I asked a local hitch place how much they would charge me for a hitch and they said it would cost about 70.000 thousand Icelandic krona which is about 750 us dollars thats way to much for me and a rip off as well. thats why i would like to build my own it would cost under a 100 us dollars. So any help is well appreciated.

all you're gonna need is 2 steel plates drilled to mount to your frame rail plus round or square tubing set to the width of the frame rail, then the hitch receiver hook up. have you looked at ebay to ship from the states over to iceland?

Default shiping

I have looked at ebay and thought about shipping but with taxes and shipping it is still alot compared to making it myself . The thing that is bothering me is that I have looked at alot of hitches on the internet and I cant seem to figure out how this all fits with the rear bumper brackets . If someone could then maybe give me tips or post a picture of the hitch on their car and how it all fits in with the rear bumper bracket. Also just added some pictures of dodges in Iceland in the photo gallery . dodge ram 6x6 on 38" and durango on 44" and then of course my small little dodge dakota on 35".

Here, check this link out. It doesn't have measurements, but it shows you how to assemble it and how to attach it. It also has an exploded view to give some more detail about it.
