Default Serious Question

OK, me and my roomate have been pondering this for months. What is the clip thing used for that is on the head liner where the glasses case is and the garage door opener compartment are. It doesn't move, and its kind of in an awkward position and we can't figure out what would go there. I have included pics

That is where the overhead computer goes that shows outside temp and mileage and fuel consumption , you just dont have it there but being they are mass produced they had to put something there to cover it

most likely it's a cosmetic design. if i had the ceiling console in my truck, id drill some holes out of it an either use it as a switch panel or figure a way how to put some gauges up there

well i'm no stoner just a daydreamer that couldn't figure it out. Actually we were pretty drunk when we were working on it and we had a conversation on what purpose it serves.

I guess its just a great unkown mystery with the dakota trucks.
