Default power steering "issues"

well if its not one thing its another...esp right before i gotta drive to a show...lol
ok, heres my thing.

when driving at higher speeds, (freeway speeds) if i let off the gas, the steering gets loose. kinda freaked me out coming off the highway when my truck tried to duck towards the ditch
it dosnt pull the steering wheel, the tires just seem to turn a little more than i want them to.
and the fluid levels are fine, if not a tad bit high

and i have a nice long drive tomorrow, i need help soon

check your ball joints and play in the steering wheel.. have someone sit in the cab, engine running and jerk the wheel back and forth 6 inches, and look at all your linkages, if nothing moves then id vouch for a bad steering rack, if you can see the tie rods move and the tires dont or just barely, then id check out the ball joints, simple place to start

i just checked everything, no problems at all, nothings tight, nothings loose, no play in the wheel, everything functions as it should, i'll go back at it tomorrow morning, but its not gonna affect my drive to the show,

the only time i notice is when im coming down from freeway speed,
hell i even gave it gas, and let off (in neutral) coming off earlier and she got loose when i let off, and tightened up when i gave it gas.
its not so bad i dont feel safe, i just gotta slow down a bit more with the brakes, since its fine at idle
