about 5 or 6 years ago we had an olds bravada that cought on fire on the turnpike... for a 20 mile tow it costed over 300$. The good news was, the shop that installed the alternator belt too tight (because it was the wrong belt) ended up paying the tow bill because my dad said they would... and they all agreed because my dad is scarry as f u c k, and no one in their right mind would ever disagree with him.

probably because the tow never showed up, so either he didnt call it in, or odot needs to find a better tow company

no dude, its the tow company... first of all they let them have a monopoly on the turnpike because they only allow one company to do all the towing. it took like 3 hours for the tow truck to show up when our bravada caught on fire. And after all that waiting, they sent the wrong kind of truck because the car was a 4x4. so the guy *kermit*, had to yank the driveshaft so it could be towed. The only reason I remember his name is because I kept thinking to myself "jesus christ we have f u ck ing kermit the frog for a tow truck driver" And the worse part of the whole thing was, me, my mom and my sister had to ride all the way back to the nearest exit *which was like 20 miles* in a cop car. My dad actually ended up almost getting arrested for going off on the cop for being a douche bag because he wouldnt let our dog ride in the cop car back to the exit. He was like "you'll let a f u c king drunk ride in the car and puke all over the place but you wont let the god damn dog sit in the backseat" Moral of the story... dont break down on the turnpike.... either that or dont own a GM.

Batty, oddly enough, that exhaust gasket leak can cause a change in your airflow around your valves. This can put pressure on the valves where they weren't meant to take the stress and bad things can happen.
Have fun on your rebuild!
