Your only problem is QC's weigh a lot but atleast you don't have 4wd so that helps. I think you should have him though. The 4.7 is a good motor from what i hear and the ranger, well its a ranger

You've got him, hands down. Just don't spin.

you should have him by about a full second if it were an actual 1/4 mile. i was 2 tenths faster in my 3.9 against the ranger.

well, a durmax is even more pathetic than a powerjoke
still, not bad for a 3.9

You want to see who has more power and torque, then chain the bumpers together and pull his little ford down the road and drop it off at a junk yard...

I don't know what Ranger he has exactly...

I wouldnt agree with everyone saying you are gonna take him by 1 second. It depends on his rear end...

If he has the 4.0L SOHC with the 4.11 gearing tow package, he's gonna take you without an issue, IMO.

If he had a stick, I would say don't even bother to race him. The 4.0L might not be the most powerful thing you can get into a truck. His truck is light, and if he has the 4.11 package, I would bet on him.

My father has an 03 Ranger with a stick and the V6 4.0L sohc, and the 4.11 gears, and it's a quick sob.

Good Luck.

To the post above me..no.

Rangers tires are too skinny, and the truck it self is pathetic. I test drove a 06 4.0, and let me tell you something...it was barely faster than the 4.7. This is with 4.11 towing package and all.

MadisonDAkota...

This is going to be very close. The dakota is heavy as hell. You can't deny that the rangers got plenty of power for its size.

It doesnt sound like you like ford. I have a 3rd gen dakota. I like Dodge and all, but the ranger is a pretty good truck, especially offroad, right out of the box. I wouldnt call it pathetic.
