fan clutch nut

Default fan clutch nut

Sorry to ask stupid question but I keep reading that the nut is standard nut and then I read its reverse. on my 2000 v6 if im standing in front of it which direction is to loosen.

standing in ft it is counter clockwise to remove dont put anything on the threads. I had on the guy put rtv on the threads then staked the nut. cost him a lot to have his water pump replaced

Left.

Put a alen wrench in the pulley to keep it from spinning, and get a long monkey wrench and a hammer, one good pop with the hammer to the left and it will pop loose.

thanx guys, I used a strap wrench and cant get it loose so I thought I was trying to spin it the wrong way. i was wondering because the fan spins toward the passenger side, I thought the nut would spin off the other way. guess I have to try again.
