I have a 1998 dak. with a 4 cylinder 5 speed. I have a sound from the engine sounds like an exhaust manifold leak but changed the gasket and have checked back pressure and done other tests and the sound is still there. Is there any common problems out there that cause this sound like a vacuum or exhaust leak? Thanks in advance.

 

whats it sound like?
is it kind of a tick sound? if so its your rockers needing adjusted

 

Yeah ticking would be a different than a leak. If its ticking its probably like batman said a rocker or maybe a cam chain? not sure how the 4 bangers are with those.

 

i know a slight rocker tick sounds very close to an exaust manifold leak.
and theres a chance its the timing chain, but that wouldnt be in the area of the exaust mani.
