Default CAI Installation on 04 Dakota 3.7L?? (PICS ADDED!)

Hey guys, well I just ordered my CAI on ebay, (im on a budget here :-)

Anyways, the instructions he sent me were for my dakota 3.7 but the pictures look nothing like my engine....!!

Has anyone here put a CAI on an 04 3.7L V6??

If so, would you happen to have any pictures so I can compare it to my truck? Is there a Mass airflow sensor on these dakota's?

Thanks a ton guys!

Jim

dude please search for this stuff, theres so many intake threads on this board its not funny. anyway to give you a hand, i think the 3.7 and the 4.7 set up maybe the same, i'm not exactly sure, im just working of of how the 3.9/5.2/5.9 are all based on the same platform and set up exactly the same except the 3.9 is a v6 and the 5.2 and 5.9 are both v8s, just different displacements, hence the numbers.

Hey whats up man, thanks for the response, Ive done numerous searches, with nothing relevant coming up. Maybe my searching terms are wrong or something...??

I would just like to get a picture of someone who has installed a CAI on an 04 Dakota 3.7L.

That would be REALLY helpful.

back to the search button I guess :-)!!

my is a 04, but not a 3.7 but a 4.7 i put a EBAY CAI on my truck also and it was very easy to do. there is no mass on the 4.7 the only thing i had to hook up was the temp sensor on one of the tubs. I am not sure if this helps you any.

Thanks Lamchop! I appreciate the help man! When I looked under the hood today, I noticed one tube coming off the stock box but it goes down into a sort of three way split??

I should be able to figure it out I guess :-)

Would you mind posting up a picture of your intake under your hood? I'd like to see how you set it up.?

Thanks!

yeah i have the 4.7 and as i said earlier it only took about 20 minutes to do. i think that second rubber hose (mine was blue) plugs into the black three way adaptor (i think it runs into the ac unit or something. you want to post a picture of the issue you are having so that we might be able to help you a little more?

Hey Bryant, for sure man. I'll take a pic of it right now actually. Its kind of dark, but the flash should help. If it comes out bad, I can do it tomorrow during the day.

Gimme about 15 minutes!

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the hose that you are talking about is the crank case vent, it should just plug into the intake piping. No big deal and by the looks of it, the engine bay is exactly how the 4.7Ls are. You have got it man, no worries, be confident It even looks similiar to the newer 4.7s bay.

See the hose connected to the intake on the back

Thanks alot for the pics man! Just what I needed, but now Im further confused!! :-)

So the black part that connected to the stock box, that says 3.7L Magnum on mine and on yours it said "4.7L V8" has to come off?? Looks like you got rid of it??

How in the world does that come off? Just a few screws?

I should have my intake by Monday.

Thanks again for the pics, it really did help alot!
