Hello all, I bought a 1998 dodge dakota 4x4 about 3 months or so ago. It has the 3.9 with a 5-speed. I was wondering how dificult is it to swap in the 5.2L? Does the 5.2 bolt up to the same transmission? Basically how didficult is this swap? I love the truck but the 3.9 is just a bit weak in some areas. Btw this is a great forum. Thanks for any help.

 

You can easily put the 5.2 in. But you will probably find one with a auto, so I would find the flywheel for one with standard...

 

get a new clutch and pressure plate as well.

 

Will a 3.9 mount up to a 5 speed that had a 4 banger in front of it???
