Default Rear End

Okay so a couple of says ago i changed the oil in the engine and in the rear end, I guess just for reasurance. while i was in there i was just thinking if i could but a locker in there. I talked to my dad and he knows alot more in this area than i but here is the question. Can i put a locker in my rear end. I have 98 V6 2wd there gears that are in there are 3.21. i am in school right now so i cannot go look at what size the exle is but from what i can muster i think it said something with an 8. any help would be appreciated.

it's a 8.25 and are you sure its got 3.21's for some reason I thought these trucks only came with 3.55 or 3.92...anyways you can do a limited slip for sure but i'm not sure about lockers I wouldn't see why not because they make kits for them and since its a 2wd you could put some taller gears in and it wouldn't cost an arm and a leg since you wouldn't have to do the front too.

it's an 8.25 or 8 1/4 rear, and i believe you either have 3.92 or 3.55 gear back there, i dont think dodge ever put a 3.21, if ever behind a v6, truck would be a dog, i would know having a dakota with 3.92 gears and it's not exactly fast but she gets up and gos. yeah you can put a LSD in your rear axle, www.ringpinion.com , theres to start you off on your search.
