I need to know if the O2 sensor on my 1998 5.2 Dakota is AFR(wide band) or not. Also need to know if anyone has traced the upstream sensor wire and can help find it under the hood. I'm connecting an EFIE and it taps into the upstream sensor wire.

best way to install a wideband is to have an aditinal bung added before the cats and hook the wideband directly up to that, as for the wire you are looking for its a tan/white or ran/black wire coming from the o2 to the pcm. It gives the pcm the a/f reading.

and only the front o2 shows a/f/r the one after the cat is not what you want.
