i think you need the throttle body obviously and the throttle cable. i have heard that it can give the 3.9's a pretty good boost.

nope the cable from the old one will be just a hair short and raise your idle over 1k which is NOT good for gas consumption

it might be a tad louder from more air coming in but i doubt it would be too much louder

All ya need is the V8 throttle body and the V8 throttle cable. (new gasket too). Bolts right up...shouldnt change the sound one bit (at least, I didnt notice any sound change on mine).
Took about 45 mins from start to finish...i had issues getting the new throttle cable through the firewall properly.....or i would have been done in like 20 minutes.

good luck

Bryan

Also need to change out the sensors from the V6 TB to the new V8 TB since you know they work. Get the cable from the donor vehicle it's a real PITA to try to make the old one work if the connectors are different. V8 TB added a little more power on my v6, it pulls harder from a dead stop. V8 TB and a 180 thermostat actualy helped my MPG a whole lot too. I have about a 25% increase in MPG from it.

yea v6 cable ends are different for sure. Thats why you need a new one. I paid like 50 for mine when I bought it new from the dealer.
