uuuh, yeah.....my tires only lasted me 10K. then again i have an R/T and a heavy right foot. i swear if you took an overhead picture of the city you could track my driving patterns by connecting the black patches i leave everywhere. oh well, gotta pay to play i suppose....

batman dont you have a 5 speed? its easier to not spin the tires if you have a manual. thats why when it snows I usually drive my 88. I just start off in 2nd and its alot easier. The only thing about that truck is... no ABS in the rear. so if you lock the brakes up the back of the truck ends up on front of you real fast. Plus its 20 years old and beat up so if I wreck it, its no big deal, the thing's a tank anyway.

I went through a hellish winter last year. Here in Vermont we got like 6 inches every night in Feb. I had my 3.9 auto and my tires went away really quick. I didn't do burnouts and they were gone after winter just from the fact I never had traction. Plus I had well over 200 pounds in the back. It sucked and i wanted to push my truck of a cliff.

Now im pretty excited to see how my new truck does in the snow.

oooh yeah winter in northern states (and canada i guess) is brutal in a rear wheel drive truck. especially an R/T with the 3.92 rear end. i landed up goin with well over 400lbs of **** in the bed last winter and still wanted to punch a kitten in the face. all that weight brought me under 8MPG....

is that a do it yourself install ? or do you have to remove the carrier and ring and reset everything.

consider the powertrax noslip. different/better than the lockright. some people hate these. i like mine. no more one wheel wonder. do it yourself, don't have to pay someone else.

Ive looked at those before but I thought they were too expensive for something that will wear out, and Ive heard people say theyve had problems with the powertrax. The biggest thing with this detriot turetrac is that it wont wear out. Sure, I can get a stock tracloc for like 270$ but i guarantee it'll be gone after like 30-40k miles and it'll have to be rebuilt. Plus....the truetrac is supposed to be stronger than any differential for the 8.25 29 spline axle made so far *according to mopar action*, not that I need it right now.... but I always have my eyes open for a good used 360 to swap in. Then the only problem would be that travesty known as the 42RE.
