I am 6 and a half hours Northwest of Edmonton. I had a 1987 GMC S15 with Goodyear Nordics on and they took to the icy mountain passes quite well. With 6 30KG sandbags over the axle.

i know how to drive in it, it helps immensly with weight, i can take a turn at 5 mph, clutch in and still lose the rear end.
plus we get wind that will knock my truck across the freeway without any hesitation, the weight keeps me planted in my lane

Ouch man. Right in the feel bads. Remember. My area of Canada (Northern BC, Northwestern Alberta) supplies the Natural Gas you use to heat your homes. We already have one guy bombing the pipelines. We could have another haha. jkjk

i got my hands on some tires for the rear of my truck.....there 31x11.5xr15......would those fit just on the back on my truck?

haha no natural gas for my house, all wood we split our own, and our hot water is from oil (most likely middle east to the best o f my knowledge)
