Default Power out of a R/T

How much power can you get out of a fullly built R/T. Im talking a cam, 1.7s, M1, headers, intake, maybe a tuner, anything else im missing?

Im guessing the torque numbers should be around 450 maybe 350 horse?

Do they make a good set of heads for the 5.9?

Im sure user can chime in here and fill me in

How "fully built" are you talking about? There are some guys that are making over 600rwhp with their combos, but they have 408 strokers with power adders.

As far as all motor goes - you can make 270-300rwhp with the full suite of standard bolt-ons, 350rwhp is possible with a good set of ported heads and a strong cam, 400rwhp with a heavy mod 408 stroker.

350 horse isn't that unattainable, especially if your willing to give the ol girl a shot of 'go juice'. other than that, heads cam, intake.... your on the right track. the only problem your going to run into is putting that power to the ground. if you want 350 to the wheels plan on building bigger or get a different trans (that 46re is a real power sapper). caltracs are a good investment, but if your getting that serious, go with a 4 link. and a good set of slicks!

yea the list goes on. If your are just talking about add ons that you can bolt on your self than it all depends. But I can see 300 hp easy..

300 is just a stock 5.9 with a 100 shot. like i said, not unattainable at all...... (sorry, daydreamin)

EDIT: wait a sec, you asked for power out of an R/T right? only reason i ask is cuz your sig says "2002 4.7L extended cab 5 speed
- K&N drop in
- Hopin for a lot more mods to come (broke and in college)"

I know, im just asking because one day I would love an R/T and was just wondering what they are capable of.

I was talking
- Heads
- Cam
- Intake
- Full Exhaust
- All the supporting mods.
- No gogo juice or s/c. All natural baby.

I have seen edelbrock makes a set of heads.

With 350 horse, what kind of ET's are we looking at? Do you think you could get that thing down into the low 12s high 11's or is that out of the question w/ out a 408 or juice?

i'd say something along 12.7 isnt out of reach on a NA 360. at that point your gonna need SERIOUS suspension work and a set of ET slicks to get out of the hole fast enough. and forget about it with that 46re

I still think its stupid that RT's are only available as autos. People like me lose cause I refuse to buy an auto and I dont wanna HAVE to swap to a manual. Tho a viper 6 speed would be fun
