I have no idea what changed when. On the 97-04 pushrod motors, the V6 uses a different throttle cable than the V8, but the cruise and TV cables are both the same.

Just did the swap on my 03. It was easy. I was surprised at the difference in the size of the ports. I made a link to attach the throttle cable because of the different connection. I have a cable on the way but couldn't wait for 3 days to try it out. My impression is that it is a little peppier on take off which is what I wanted but it is after all a 6 cylinder. It also accelerates a bit faster when you kick it into passing gear. I fueled up also so I can monitor the difference in mileage. I will see if the swap was worth $50. The throttle bodies are readily available on EBay and cables are on there too.
