Question More Tow-Hook Talk...

So, I've been researching tow-hooks for my 03 Quad Cab and (like others) was shocked/surprised/baffled why Dodge in their infinite wisdom would "forget" to at least make some mounting points for these items. Seems like they had it in mind when they created the front bumper... there are two perfect openings on either side of the bumper for them. However, after further inspection there is simply no place to mount a pair of two-hooks to take advantage of openings.

I found a nice set of hooks with clips (Smittybuilt/Outland), question is... where should I mount these bad boys where 1) I'm not going to loose any clearance on my approach angle, 2) where it won't jack up the bumper should I need a tug 3) where the mounting point is strong enough not to bend/twist the frame?

(Looks like drilling will be required as well...)

Finally, would the group suggest a receiver tow hook or D-ring for the back?

Hm... let me know if you might know where I can find that. I've done several searches with no results.

on that i would just put in a reciever hitch mounting and rather than put in a ball (so that you can tow) just put in a heavy duty D-ring... i have seen a couple of jeeps like that and i guess it gets the job done...

they dont make oem front tow hooks, nor have i found aftermarket ones. i did however find a front hitch receiver. 130.00 shipped. no more front tow/pull point issues. complete bolt on. got mine in the mal today and hopefully gonna install it this weekend after i get my new notto terra grapplers put on for next weekends "Snowfari" off road trip.

im hoping i dont lose too much if any approach, as the bottom of the hitch comes out at the bottom of the lower airdam. it might even just barely touch the bottom.

looks like a simple (i hope) basic install. 6 bolts total. should be about a 30-45 min install. 300 lb tounge weight capacity and 9000 pound pull/winch capacity.
