Default Idle cold problem?

Maybe someone can give me an idea on what to look for here. I'm sort of "dead in the water" without my notebook. No error codes. 98 dakota when shut down after a short run, a mile or two won't start unless I hold the throttle down a little and then it clears up and idles on it's own again. This does not happen when it's cold. Once it's hot it's fine. Could it be a temp sensor going? It seems like it has something to do with the transition from open to closed loop. Thanks for any ideas!

It's probably the IAC or TPS. Remove them both (1 at a time) and see which is the prob. Cleaning will not always fix, but it's a start. Do the IAC first.

Well pulled the IAC first and it was all loaded with carbon as well as the the body it sits in. I've read also they can build a resistence internally and not react like they should. New one is in and tried to get the problem to show up but...looks like a good call! Thanks for the lead!

No prob, hope it stays fixed. You did clean the TB hole where it goes into also right?
