5.9 FTW... wait for Varsis (yeah i know, sorry dude) to chime it as he recently did the 3.9 to 5.9 swap... if you do it, it will be sick but idk if you can keep your transmission

yeah i agree, it would be really sweet to have a 5.9 5 speed... i know that the 5.9 was primarily used in the 1500 ram, did it ever get matted with a manual?

I am pretty sure you have to get an expensive fly wheel for the 5.9 to put a manual behind it.

im pretty sure varsis kept his 3.9 tranny i think they used the same ones on some of them, if you do all the work yourself you could probably do it for under a grand

yeah im looking an the NV3500 specs and although it was behind the 3.9 and the 5.2 and 4.7 but nothing about the 5.9... chances are the 5.9 makes too much power (as somwehre said that the 3500 can handle 340 lb ft which i am pretty sure the 5.9 has more)

EDIT: that 340 number that i got is for the HD NV3500 which im pretty sure you don't have... for the regular NV3500, that number is 300 lbft which is no enough...

according to an '01 ram manual, the 5.9 v8 was paired up with the NV4500 manual however i dont see why not about pairing up the 5.9 with an nv3500
