Default Posi installation

I bought a limited slip unit from a guy here that was worn out. So I bought the rebuild kit for the unit. I haven't started rebuilding the posi yet, but I also know that I need to get a few bearings and such for when I install it.

I have two questions:

•Is it fairly simple to rebuild the posi unit?

•What parts should I get for when I install the unit? Is there maybe a kit somewhere that you guys know of with the bearings and stuff?

go to ringandpinion.com they have master rebuild kits for the rear. Your best bet is to look up the posi unit on summitracing.com, most of the time they have downloadable instructions for the part. either that or get ahold of the manufacturer and ask them to send you the instructions. what kind of LSD is it? FYI in mopar world we dont use the term "posi", thats a general mortars word.

you can rebuild the stock lsd, but not an auburn lsd. When i get the money im buying a detroit true-trac LSD for my 8.25 rear, its about 500$ but it supposedly will never wear out because of its design. The stock LSD in my friend's 4.7 works just fine, they're not total junk.

i know they're not very good and they dont last long, but they're good enough for average use and pretty cheap to replace. you can get a new stock LSD for like 230$.
