Talking christmas came early

For about the past month my 01 had been cranking really slow and I knew it was time for a new battery. So, since I'm 23 and poor and in college I have to ask for things that are practical for Christmas, so of course I asked my dad to get me a new battery for Christmas. Well yesterday I went out in the -5 degree weather of northern ohio to start my truck and what a surprise, I got the "crankkkkkkkk crannkkkkkkkkk click click click click". I went in to tell my dad my truck was dead and he said just a second while he got his coat on and stuff and he'd meet me outside. He then opened the door to his car and pulled out a brand new Duralast Gold 750 CCA battery. It was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen because the timing was so perfect. We then spent about 10 minutes freezing our asses off in the -5 degree weather installing the new battery and of course it fired right up. Im surprised the OEM battery lasted 8 years in these harsh conditions, so i'm not complaining any, plus I got my christmas present early.

Anyone else get any cool stuff for their trucks for Christmas? I know its pretty hard to beat a new battery (satirical joke), but someone must have got some new parts.

Awesome deal man! Did you tear up alittle or just cry out loud? just curious haha None yet from the folks, of course I live 3 hrs from them too. I guess the only thing I am thinking the truck maybe getting for xmas is a SC Tuner plus whatever the folks get it, *cough cough* err I mean St Nick! I just havent made my mind up yet with what the bonus is going for or if its gonna be the tuner

My OEM battery out of my 2001 lasted till about 5 months ago, there probably wasnt anything wrong with it, i was just in a situation to go ahead and replace it before it had the chance to defecate on me. I threw a everlast maxx 750 cca battery from wal-mart, since i worked there at the time, with a 3 year free replacement warrenty, which happens to cover me dumping the water out of it...which then the 3 years starts all over...free batteries for life

-15 thats absolutely ridiculous, I threw a fit when it was -5 yesterday... I absolutely hate cold weather. Oh and ive always wondered, i see spiderman had a optima red top in his old truck, whats so special about them? I noticed they were like extremely expensive compared to the other batteries.
