I can't find the name of it cause i think mine is broke. The a/c will run untill the lines freeze over and I need to know what to replace if it's cheap. Thanks ahead of time.

Expansion Valve?

Sometimes you have to remove the dash to get to them. I'm not sure how they are on dakotas. But most chrysler vehicles have them inside/ouside the dash like when we did my g/f 2002 Jeep GC

I was also to check if the oriface tube/filter is clogged. I will try to check both.
