Default radiator cap

After replacing my radiator cap twice in a couple of years, with an aftermarket one (Stant).
My coolant still seemed flow into my reservoir and causing overheating after awhile, I had to suck out the coolant from the overflow and put back into the upper hose, outlet.
But, someone mentioned that maybe by getting a cap from Dodge, it would solve my problem.
I replaced the cap last week, and will see how it goes, it usually takes a couple of weeks/months to act up enough to overheat.
Anybody come across this situation??
Thanks
Barry

What's the PSI of the cap you currently have? I'm willing to bet that it is under the rating for the original and therefore causing your problem.

How would I find out the PSI of the cap????
Where would that be listed, it was a CST part #7720 from Autozone, but I can't find the PSI, at the store or the CST website.

Usually it's engraved on the cap or should be. Wasn't anything on the package?

The "PSI" rating on the replacement cap from Autozone is 20psi
And the Dodge is rated at 21 pounds...not much of a difference.
Maybe the dodge design one seals better???

thats when the pressure is let off. no difference in sealing abilities. id personally make sure i replaced a part with an OEM replacement or better. should be a 21 psi cap. system and cap are engineered to work with each other, dont compromise it.
