Arrow Maximum Tire Size - 2004 Dakota Sport - 4WD Quad Cab

Question #1
I know this topic has been beaten to death. I've done all the searching I can and cannot find a definitive answer on what the maximum tire size actually is. (without issues)

Does anyone know the maxium tire size that can be installed without modifying the truck in any way?

Currently have stock
265/70R16

I'm looking at Yokohama Geolandar

LT265/75R16 RBL
Diameter 31.9
Width 10.6

OR

275/70R16 (Not LT)
Diameter 31.4
Width 10.9

Any other recommendations are much appreciated.

Question #2
Do I need LT Tires? They are listed as 20% heavier and I'm assuming will decrease gas mileage and have a rougher ride. I do not use the truck for work but I am an avid outdoorsman, camping, fishing, hunting etc. Any input in this regard is very much appreciated.

Thanks,
Shawn

I have the Geo 265/75-16 A/T's on my truck and love them. You may have to crank up the torsion bars a little to keep them from rubbing on xtreme turns, but other than that they are probably the best tire I have ever owned. They make my truck hold the corners almost as good as a car and have great all terrain properties as well. Mine are the 8pr load range which is lighter than the 10pr, but still a LT tire. I just add an extra 10psi to them which makes them a little stiffer, but reduces the rolling resistance.

I say go for it.
