having no back pressure can also burn up exhaust valves. if you wanna do true duals do 2.25 with 3.5 inch tips. adding a couple short glasspacks like 16" or so will really made it sound great.

as long as you are running the y pipe and some pipe back you will have enough back pressure!

Couple questions about the true doul exhaust, would i just weld it up to the y pipe that comes of the manafolds, And would there be ecwal air flow coming out of each pipe?

that wouldnt be a true dual exhaust. true dual implies the left and right exhaust manifold have their own exhaust pipe.

Well when i had my 99 3.9 the guy that put true dual on that, cut the end of the y pipe off thats connected to the manafolds, and ran the right pipe to the right one and the left one to left one. Thats what he did is that how you do it or not? he just cut the end of were it goes into one, and welded the pipes up to each side.

no a true dual is the end of the right headers going into the right exhaust and the left headers going into the left exhaust pipe no y pipe invoved and having two pipes (that never meet) going back to the rear of the truck

if it sounds good to you then yes. if not then no. basically all we can do is give you advice on what is possible. it is up to you to figure out how agressive/calm your setup will be. check youtube and you should be able to find other people who have done different setups and after that, you should be able to figure out what you like and don't like, then go from there.

or maybe ill just put a y pipe on it and run it out to 45 behind the truck and run 2inch after the y. That would be easyer than true dual, but would it be louder or the same? And would it be any differnt from the exhaust set up that i have on it now it tone?, single 2half inch stright pipe no cat no muff?
