What exhaust setup would be louder?

all this 'loud' talk...... loud is not always good. i switched from a straight pipe, to a cherry bomb, to a hooker max flow. i love the lower resonance of the hooker, its nice and quiet at idle but when i get on it, watch out. im also driving from chicago to nebraska and back all the time for school and the sound of straight pipes almost made me pull my hair out over the course of an 8 hour one way drive. i actually blew out my two rear speakers because i would always have my music cranked to drone out the exhaust. do what you will, i know plenty of LS1 guys who love their straight pipes, to each his own. just my .02.

Now that is funny, true but funny. I don't think the cops will let you get very far like that, but maybe you could just out run them Not to mention the mess you'll make outta your engine compartment.

if you have two cow bells. the larger one will have a deeper lower sound. the smaller one will be more "tin-y" if that makes sense. with having larger exhaust tips (18in slash cuts vs. 8in slash cuts for example) the 18s are going to have a little bit deeper of a sounds (assuming that they both have the same settup, muffler or straight or whatever.. aslong as it is exactly the same for each)... this is because more medel is vibrating and goes along with the cowbell theory
