I will agree with you guys, the 4.7 will never make an r/t, but to clarify a little the 4.7 is still a magnum, mine is. Most 3rd gen dakotas, with the exception of the r/t's come with the 8in rear-end, but I know atleast in 2003 there was a 9in option because mine has a 9in 12 bolt rear-end.

The bottom line is though a dakota with the 4.7l IS NOT an r/t!

4.7 was originally a power tech engine until 2001 - 2002 i believe, rebadged the magnum engine afterwards.

my friend's 02 4.7 sport came with a 9.25 rear with 3.55 LSD. It wasnt swapped in either, it says on the build sheet.

You are probably right. I've only owned 2 dak's a '95 and now this '03.

r/ts came with 9.25 with 3.92s

here is what i left as a comment:

hey dumbass: first of all, R/T's only came with the 5.9... second its too high and no rear sway bar you can debadge a truck, but it doesn't make it an R/T... (think lipstick on a pig...)

also, my CUSTOM exhaust sounds better than that ****ty *** flowmaster...

how does **** taste?
