are magnum heads different?

Default are magnum heads different?

i have a 1998 dodge 1500 4x4 with 5.9 magnum... does anyone know if the magnum heads are different then standard heads?

yes they are different i think mostly on some feeding the oil, but they are different.

yes they are different than the pre-magnum LA engines (3.9, 5.2,5.9) however, all LA engines were converted to magnum in 1992. so any 5.9 from 1992+ will have the same heads. they are basically a different bolt pattern, and higher flowing.

the oiling system is different, i believe there is a company out there that makes them compatible with LA blocks, but dont quote me on that. the sweet thing about an LA is that you can put a blower on those heads, i dont mean a supercharger, i mean the wicked looking blower part coming out of the hood.

and the magnum cylinder heads have additional valve cover bolts versus the 5 bolts on the LA heads. helps with the leaking issue they once had, so ive read.
