I am putting new speakers in my dakota and I can get the door frame off except for the metal rod that connects the release lever on the inside of the car to the latch that acually allows the door to open. Does anyone know how to get that rod off? It looks like its secured by a peice of plastic but I can't seem to get the thing out. Any help would be appreciated.

yeah there is a little piece of plastic that just pops out of the way, just be careful
