i only have a half a tank with the new TB. Ill let everyone know what the effect is on my MPG. I have heard that the TB improves milage (not that I drive the same with it on ) but I will let everyone know either way.

What will the gearing ratio have for an effect on my truck? Is that a change I can do or is it complected? And someone clue me in on the roller rockers please

im looking at doing the harland sharp RRs non adjustable 1.7s myself. i just dont want the think to sound like shes running a hot cam and/or lose anymore low end. i want to gain it. still doing my homework on that one (im a flippin cripple for the enxt few months until i lose this brace, gives me something to do).. as for gears. higher the gear number, better acceleration, less top speed. lower the gear number, slower the acceleration, faster top speed. so a 4.56:1 gear will launch ***** to the wall off the line, where was a 3.55:1 will be like grandma is behind the wheel. since youre running around in a v6 like myself, you should have 3.92:1 gears. IMO best for highway driving/top speed/acceleration all in one. the 4.10s will better suit you if you do more city driving, but you will lose a bit of mpg on the highway. since you have a 4x4, you need to do 2 sets as well. not gonna lie, axle work is more involved then popping your valve covers off to swap out your rocker arms. and i gotta hope for the best, doing this mod will work in conjunction with the sueprchips on the truck, i dont see why it should.

Thanks fox! My parents live 45mi away, and its almost all highway. I think Ill stick with what I have for gearing. I do a fair bit of highway driving and Im usually late (well to work at least ). But when I get my BMW going my kota will get some special loving and gearing might be on the list.

But I am curious if there are any mods (nothing huge, no superchargers lol) that I can do for a but of low end grunt

gears are not that easy. Lots of work is involved. i would say about 8 hours for each axle. More if you have never done it and you need a few special tools.

btw I had to do two sets.

they have all been sold. Sorry, and you would need a v8 linkage also to make it work.

What's different on the V6/V8 linkages? Like you have to re-do the throttle cable and everything between the TB and pedal, or what?
