Thanx for all the input. I took my dash and passenger side kick panel apart on Saturday. My stock radio clips (there are 2) are still there. I found my amp in the kick panel. Thanx Jimmy. The clip was not plugged into the amp and a bunch of wires were cut tight to the clip. They look like speaker wire. I don't know what the person before me did to this thing but none of it looked right. At least I know were everything is and hopefully come up with a solution in the coming weeks. Oh what fun.

Thanx again everybody,

Chris

Sounds like the OE amp had a problem or quit working and the previous owner unplugged it, cut the speaker wires and extended them up to the radio location to play the speakers just with the Pioneer unit in the dash. If the speakers are blown or they have physical damage, it would not sound very good. It would be worth a look to remove the door panels and see what shape the speakers are in.

If the speakers are ok, it might be also worth it to reconnect the wires back at the amp and see if it really might still work and maybe sound better. The OE amps don't really fail all that often. Be sure to connect the green/orange amp remote on wire to the blue/white remote on wire from the Pioneer unit. It could be that the amp is OK, the speakers are toasted and all you need is a good set of new ones to clean it all up again.

While you are at it, you could drop an RCA cord and remote on wire from the subwoofer outputs on the Pioneer unit so you could easily add a sub and amp later on without pulling the dash and radio again. That would be the next logical step after you get this problem fixed.

Jimmy
