Default Hey guys

New over to this part of the forum. I had a 96 Ram not too long ago that I traded in for a suburban. The suburban was totaled by a drunk driver while it was parked on the street, so now I've got my shinny new to me 2000 Dakota with 39k miles. I decided I didn't want a full size anymore, and that I wanted another Dodge, so now I'm over here!

Anyway here's a pic.

But I'm having an issue. I think I broke the driver's side power door lock actuator. When I press the lock button it locks, but it makes a nasty grinding sound for a second or so. If I hold down the button it makes the grinding sound until I let off the button. It still locks okay,. but the sound is really loud and extremely annoying. You guys think I broke it? Or is there a way to reset it like take the door panel off and push it back in like a stepper motor or something? Or do I have to replace it? Or maybe just oil it? Idk... I've got mechanical knowledge so any ideas, I'll know what your talking about.

Thanks guys!

Not posotive but I don't think it will. My wife had a 1998 Grand Voyager that I had to replace one in and a universal one wouldn't work. Never had trouble with one in my truck......yet.
